At the University of Chicago Divinity School each year they have what is called "Baptist Day." On this day each one is to bring a lunch to be eaten outdoors in a grassy picnic area. Every "Baptist Day" the school would invite one of the greatest minds to lecture in the theological education center. One year they invited Dr. Paul Tillich. Dr. Tillich spoke for two and one-half hours attempting to prove that the resurrection of Jesus was false. He quoted scholar after scholar and book after book. He concluded that since there was no such thing as the historical resurrection, the religious tradition of the church was groundless, emotional mumbo-jumbo, because it was based on a relationship with a risen Jesus, who, in fact, never rose from the dead in any literal sense. He then asked if there were any questions. After about 30 seconds, an old, dark skinned preacher with a head of short-cropped, woolly white hair stood up in the back of the auditorium.
"Docta Tillich, I got one question," he said as all eyes turned toward him.
He reached into his lunch and pulled out an apple and began eating it. "Docta Tillich.".
CRUNCH... CRUNCH, MUNCH... MUNCH...
"My question is a simple question,..."
CRUNCH... CRUNCH, MUNCH... MUNCH...
"Now, I ain't never read them books you read...
CRUNCH... CRUNCH, MUNCH... MUNCH...
"and I can't recite the Scriptures in the original Greek..." I don't
know nothin' about Niebuhr and Heidegger...
CRUNCH... CRUNCH, MUNCH... MUNCH...
He finished the apple.
"All I wanna know is: This apple I just ate,------was it bitter or sweet?"
Dr. Tillich paused for a moment and answered in exemplary scholarly fashion: "I cannot possibly answer that question, for I haven't tasted your apple."
The white-haired preacher dropped the core of his apple into his crumpled paper bag, looked up at Dr. Tillich and said calmly,
"Neither have you tasted my Jesus."
The 1,000 plus in attendance could not contain themselves. The Auditorium erupted with applause and cheers. Dr. Tillich thanked the audience and promptly left the platform.
Have you tasted Jesus?
Please pass this on Saints! Jesus has risen... and he's coming back one day!
"Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him. If you have, rejoice in the hope of the resurrection that is your faith in Him brings." - Psalm 34:8

Saved by Grace & Blogging about God's word..
I have been thinking to create a blog to put up my thoughts and the way God is speaking to me. I want to review my rendevour with God again and again to be strong in spirit... Though born and bought up in a Christian family and being baptised in 2001 and I never had a personal experience of God's precense... I have MANY times accepted Jesus as my saviour... :D and I knw that he is the way to heaven and I will be only saved by Jesus....but.. but there was still something missing!... the joy!?? His presence!!? yes! Infact I was missing Him in my life!... I really wonder how I have managed to exist.... Always trying to be happy-go types... enjoying life... attending churches... praying now-and-then... listing to sermons and worshiping him.... sometimes trying to hide my self from others... my inner voices... inner grief... some emptiness... just thanking God sometimes for His faithfulness... ! I really used to think Iam saved and now-and-then being in His presence was enough.... It was when I came to blore that I started realising the presence of God in my life!... How wonderful He is... His Love was really pursuing me...!!! I Cried to the Lord in 2009... I realised how I was... how much Sin I had inside me... I donno out of where...!! but yes, I could understand that God was talking to me. I always used to wonder when ppl used to say.... " God spoke to me?" " God told me..." 'God showed me..." well this was one question that I always used to laugh at... One of my friend (now my husband :)) told me tat God speaks through His word,... through circumstances,.... through ppl... Then I started looking at it... and trying to find out what God was telling me???/.... what God was speaking to me... and believe me He does!!!.... In whtever situation I am in... He always speaks to me... through His word... through sermons... We just need to listen to His still voice... Which ever meeting I attended... which ever article I read... He used to talk to me on my situation... Wonderful He is!!!... I started growing closer to my Lord.... having fellowship with Him is wonderfull@!!... :) Read on and get blessed!! Share ur testimonies and comments too....
